Spicy Sesame Tofu
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
- 3 tbsp Honey
- Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
- Pinch of Crush red peppers
- 2 tbsp water
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 6 oz Extra firm Tofu
- Olive Oil (or any preferred pan oil)
- Sesame Seeds (optional)
Preparation:
- In a small bowl, first mix water and cornstarch. Whisk or stir until smooth consistency.
- To the cornstarch mixture, add soy sauce, honey, pepper, onion powder, chili powder and red peppers. Set aside.
- Cut tofu into triangles or any shape you preferred and pat dry with paper towels.
- Heat oil on a skillet on medium low heat. Oil should just coat the pan.
- Slowly add tofu to skillet. Once browned lightly on one side, flip and brown other side (About 3 to 5 minutes each side).
- Once both sides of the tofu are lightly browned, re-stir soy sauce mixture and slowly pour over tofu.
- Reduce heat and watch your sauce thicken.
- Once plated, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with a side of rice and/or steamed veggies.
